Uttarakhand Jan Jagriti Sansthan (UJJS) has been working on issue-specific matters that directly or indirectly effect the socio-economic stratification of the people, strengthening and motivating community based organizations to form pressure groups in search of solutions to the problems that the community is facing and to seek appropriate support and participation of the community as a whole. Women empowerment is also a concern area, motivating women to form groups and encouraging them to agitate and organize movements to seek genuine solutions to various problems governing their situation in the family & society. The organization has also addressed to issues pertaining to land, water, forest, health and hygiene.

To raise the standard of living, and to develop a sense of urgency among the people to take developmental activities as a group initiative and to mobilize people in priotising their issues and to take appropriate actions for the betterment of community as a whole.
