Professor Sandhong Rinpoche is in Advisory panel of Mountain Forum Himalayas

Dr. Arun Chandan Executive Director Mountain Forum Himalayas (MFH) and Mr. Aditya Kumar Saini, Programme Associate, CASA had an audience with Professor Sandhong Rinpoche Prime Minister of Central Tibetan Government -in Exile (Kalon-Tripa) with two objectives: First: Requesting him to be the Chief Guest of Parvartiya Jal Utsav on 22nd March 2010 Second: To accept the proposal to be a part of Mountain Forum advisory panel

Hon’ble PM was briefed about various activities of MFH & CASA in mountains. He appreciated the concern of reviving traditional water harvesting systems and honoring the best practices in water conservation in mountains. Prof. Rinpoche however expressed his inability to attend state consultation but he expressed his consent to be the part advisory Council of MFH. He said that it is a matter of happiness and proud  to be part of a larger initiative for sustainable mountain development. He was of the opinion that we do have sufficient water but there is a need to wisely use it and ensure error free distribution for drinking purpose.

Prof. Rinpoche offered that during Jal Utsav programme he would be interested to welcome Magsaysay awardee Shri Rajendra Bhai in Dharamsala and Tibetan community  would love to host a small ceremony for the members of team visiting Dharamsala along with him. He assured his fullest cooperation.
